AN EVALUATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL POTENTIAL IN BURSA


The aim of this study is to reveal the numerical data of agricultural organizations in Bursa and their importance for Bursa. There are, established in Bursa Province, 54 irrigation, 19 fishery cooperative and 305 agricultural development. All these cooperatives operate according to Law No. 1 163. There are 4 breeding associations, sheep goat breeding association, buffalo breeding association, cow breeding association and bee breeding association in Bursa and it operates according to Law No. 4 996. According to law 5 200, there are 23 producer associations that continue their activities. Agricultural Development Cooperatives have 33 344 members, irrigation cooperatives have 6 434 members, and fisheries cooperatives have 1 047 members in total. There are 226 cooperatives connected to cooperative unions. Producer unions have 7 850 members, breeding associations have 6 874 members. Numerically, 17.57% of the agricultural development cooperatives and 27.12% of the irrigation cooperatives are located in İnegöl district. The most cooperatives in aquaculture are in Karacabey (26,32%). The presence of fishing cooperatives in this district may be due to the impact of the lake. Sheep and goat breeder association (Koyun Keçi Yetiştiricleri) has the highest number of members (58.81%). The number of members of the Milk Producers Association is the highest among the producer associations in Mustafa Kemalpaşa (25,70%). The total number of people / agriculture organization members is 55539. Considering that the population of Bursa (March 2019) is 2994521, the agricultural organization rate is approximately 2%. This benefited from the data obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry data and field studies.
