SYRIAN CIVIL WAR AND EAST OF EURAPHETS

Syria, which is a natural extension of the Anatolian geography, has a common point in terms of history and culture with our country. Although Syria is a new country, as Sumer and Assyria have experienced Western civilizations such as East, Macedonian, Roman, . Syria, Turkish and Islamic civilizations also lived. As a result of this past, there are many ethnic and sectarian groups. The historical process shows that the Syrian civil war, which has been going on since 2011, is not only a part of the Arab Spring but is also a part of a combination of Syrian history and external factors. It shows that the Syrian civil war is not only a part of the struggle of "bread, dignity and freedom" in brought by the Arab Spring, but also various socio-political reasons as a combination of global forces and the history of Syria. Among the socio-political reasons, political pressures were influential as well as sectarian differences and economic difficulties. The political pressure, which was the result of the successive autocratic rule of the Syrian history, created a strong opposition within the country, especially from the period of Hafiz al-Assad. Opposition groups led by the Muslim Brotherhood were suppressed for years. Most of the opponents were either killed, imprisoned or forced to leave the country. During the reign of Bashar al-Assad, such as "Damascus Spring", the rising voices of opposition have been suppressed. The emergence of the Arab Spring brought the popular uprisings to a level where they could not suppress them and the demonstrations spreading throughout the country could not be prevented by the regime. Therefore, after briefly touching upon the historical development of Syria, we will focus on the ongoing civil war and its reflections to our country since 2011. Books, articles and current developments related to the subject will be evaluated and analyzes and comments will be made.
